Assistant Band Office

Objective

The 5 Cyclone Squadron band allows cadets an opportunity to learn a new musical instrument as well as basic theory and musicianship.  The band also allows experienced musicians to take instructor roles and pass on their skills and knowledge to new musicians.

Description

The band is open to all cadets, regardless of musical experience, who are currently or would like to become musicians.

Under new direction this year the band is taking it's steady foundation that has been built up over the years and taking it to the next level.  This year there will be several pillars that will support the band:

Musicianship - playing a musical instrument
Theory - from basic to advanced theory
Drill - Band formations and Marches
Leadership and Instruction - assigning experienced musicians as instructors.

The band is also often found performing at various parades throughout the year, both within the Squadron and throughout the community.
